Manifested Moving Abroad.
Submitted by: Laxmi
India (now UK)A girl with big dreams.
I come from a very humble background in India, as they say, ‘middle class’. When I was young I always used to look up in the skies and stare at flights passing through and wonder when I would be able to sit on one. After I completed my engineering degree, I started working in IT and earned a decent salary. My first trip was to Thailand with my friends where I sat on a flight for the first time.
I always had a strong desire to move abroad, especially to London, England. I am a big Harry Potter fan! I wanted to do this so that I could earn more money and get a chance to visit more places, as I love traveling. Unfortunately, I kept waiting for an opportunity to show up and none came. There were times when I was so close to getting a job abroad but failed in my final interview rounds. I almost gave up. Life went on and I moved on.
I was in a very good company in India and was very satisfied with everything but still had that desire somewhere in my heart to travel outside and experience that lifestyle. During the Covid pandemic, I started doing meditation and felt spiritually closer to God than before. When my project in the company was closing down, I thought this is a good opportunity to move out of my comfort zone and rekindle my dreams.
I started applying again to positions on Linkedin and kept hoping for a miracle to finally happen. Then suddenly, one fine day, I got a call for a job opportunity, and guess the country! The UK! All my interview rounds went great! They sponsored my visa for me, and within a month I was given a date to move to the UK. I had waited for almost 10 years for this but when it happened I felt it all happened so fast that I didn’t have time to process it.
I first visited London on my Birthday and it felt so surreal to walk the streets that I had dreamed of walking for so long. I had happy tears.
Believe in your dreams and keep working towards them. Time is an illusion, sooner or later your wishes will come true, better late than never. Just have complete faith in yourself and in God and/or the Universe.
Thanks for reading my story. It means a lot to me.
