Last year I decided to move abroad for my Master’s degree, mainly because I was not happy with the job situation in my home country. I started giving entrance exams but could not get the desired marks. The application process required a lot of time and effort and I really needed a mentor to guide me through the process. Also, I could in no way afford the tuition fee and living expenses required to move and study abroad. To add to this, I was applying in the last round of applications and the University’s grant scholarships to the majority of the students that apply in the earlier rounds. Everyone around me told me to wait for one more year and apply the next year after retaking my entrance exams. I did not want to waste a year but I could not see how I would make it to a completely different country in just a few months.

The Secret says that “You can start with nothing, and out of nothing and out of no way, a way will be made for you.” I started telling this to myself every single day. I promised myself that I would post my story when I boarded my flight.

Once I changed my mindset, in just a matter of a few days I was introduced to a mentor who helped me apply to universities in the best possible way, although he lived in a different state than me. He was truly an angel sent to me from the Universe! I applied to many universities but was waitlisted because of my lower marks. But I really believed that I was going to get accepted and so I started preparing my packing list.

I had a particular university in mind but guess what?! I was accepted into an even better university. However, I received less scholarship money than I needed and could in no way afford the balance fees. Still, I knew that the Universe was going to make it happen for me. I applied for an education loan and it was approved within a few days. I also received my visa in a couple of days and all that I had dreamed of was coming true. And here I am posting this story as I am ready to board my plane and fly!
