That Great Leap Of Faith.

CaliforniaI'm pretty reserved, love to live life and laugh, obsessed with taking care of my family, in love with self-improvement, and getting closer to God. This is my life!
My story starts before I knew about The Secret!
When I was about nine years old, my mother relocated us from Louisiana to California for a better life. So, growing up in California is all I have ever known. It was my Home.
But as I began to journey and grow through life, there was always something in my heart. I just knew that one day, I would travel back to Louisiana to fix the house that sat upon our land and make it into a home for my mother to live in once she retired. She could be with family and live freely.
But just like many others, I experienced obstacles that were far greater than I ever thought I’d face. life struggles, financial hardships, relationships and just everyday situations that made it pretty challenging to do any of the things I had planned to do. I heard about The Secret from an old friend, and I also read Joyce Meyer’s “Do It Afraid.” I tried a few things, but nothing seemed to work, so I put them both down and did what I knew how to do best. I worked on myself. I went to work, took care of my child, and worked on our health and lifestyle.
This was my season of isolation. I got closer to God and saw what he needed me to do. He renewed my mind, and that was when I began to read more of my Bible, ‘The Secret,’ and ‘Do It Afraid.’
I was ready to give it a try! I had the idea to relocate from California to Louisiana to be with family and see what God wanted me to do with this land. After all, it was placed in my heart for a reason, right?
I had to execute a plan. I had to be strategic and take my time, as this was something that I had never done before. I would be leaving my home, my life, my family, and everything I had known. But I needed a place to live, I needed the money to relocate, and I needed a job. My child’s father was still an active part of her life, and my child was still in school. I had no idea how I was going to do any of this!
But! That feeling, that calling, that voice inside of me was stronger this time around! I knew it was time to take that leap of faith. And it just so happened that my aunt welcomed my child and me to live in her 3-bedroom home in Louisiana. God also blessed me with a large lump sum of money. More than enough to relocate with! I had a phone interview with a supervisor in Louisiana and was hired on the spot! My daughter still had her father in her life until all of his secrets came to light, and he was taken away.
So, there were no more excuses. We enjoyed our last days in California and lounged around in anticipation until the school year came to an end. We made our way to Louisiana and after months of digging and research, I found that it was not about the house that sat upon the land but what was beneath the land. I discovered that a major energy company had been striking oil from our land for over 11 years without our knowledge or consent.
Dealing with this situation is in the works, and I know God is working something out behind the scenes. I will be back to share more soon!
I would also like to let others know that if you know someone or have family who owns land in Louisiana, to go and see about their land. There are so many abandoned homes out here!!
