Among my friends and family I’m a kind of minor legend for my Parking Angel abilities. I can get parking spots in the busiest areas on the hottest nights without a hitch. This afternoon I watched The Secret, and I saw that I have been using the Law of Attraction to the tune of much success, the same way as the man in the movie. Then, I had the opportunity to kick it up a notch.

Last night I parked at the Metro and headed into downtown to meet up with friends. They ended up giving me a ride home. I didn’t realize until four o’clock this afternoon that my car had been parked in a metered spot in the paid lot at the station overnight and all day long. My first thoughts were of hefty tickets, a boot, or even being towed to who-knows-where.

I immediately stopped that process, thinking, “If the universe is going to give me what I imagine, I’m going to disappear that ticket, the boot, and the towtruck.” I pictured my car, exactly as I’d left it the night before, for the entire walk from my apartment to the Metro station. When I arrived, sure enough, there it was, front and center, no ticket, no boot, no tow.

I consider this nothing shy of a miracle, given that the lot fills up by 8:30 am, and I’ve been ticketed by parking enforcement in DC for going two minutes over my parking meter’s alotted time, much less eleven hours.

In other words, I believe in the power of The Secret, and I can’t wait to see what I manifest next.
