I grew up with more negative influences than positive ones. So, as I got older, I was unaware that I was able to obtain the things that I wanted in life. I honestly thought that riches were for people other than me and my family. Due to the lack of guidance in my upbringing, I made a lot of bad choices, and I attracted “love” from an abusive male because this type of “love” was normal to me.

At 16 years old, I became a mother. Once my daughter came into my life, I knew things had to change. I started to learn that children’s brains grow rapidly and that everything that my daughter was seeing and hearing would affect her for the rest of her life. So, I started to seek out a different path from what I knew.

Eventually, I came across The Secret, the book, and it made so much sense to me. By this time, I was pregnant with my third child. I was still with the abusive guy, and my mother was still abusive towards me. I was very depressed, but I knew that The Secret, if the information was true, could change my and my daughter’s lives. I decided to try it out.

I had no car but really wanted one by the time I had my third child. I had no money to speak of and had no idea how I was going to get one. I cut out a picture of a silver station wagon, a Subaru Legacy, and visualized myself driving it. I pictured pink velour, and Playboy bunny car seat covers.

A few weeks later, My dad, whom I had not heard from in a long time, turned up unannounced and said to me, “Raven, you are coming with me to meet your grandad. Your mum will watch the kids, and you will be back here by next week.” I quickly rushed to pack, and a few hours later, I was headed on a boat to the south Island of New Zealand. I still had no money. I had not seen my grandad since I was a kid, and he had recently learned he did not have long to live and wanted to reconnect with us in his last days.

At this time, the car that I wanted was not even in my conscious awareness. A few days after meeting with my grandad, he asked me what I was driving. I slapped my legs, and I said, “You are looking at them, grandad.” But I had an inkling of what was to come but I tried not to get my hopes up. He then said, “Well, I have got some money to spend, so let’s go and buy you a car.” I honestly could not believe my ears.

Me? I am poor. How does this even happen to a poor person like me!!!? Well, it did. After searching within our price range none of the cars felt like me. And all the cars that I took a liking to, my grandad had something to point out about why it was not good. Then we came across a later model silver station wagon. Funnily enough, my grandad didn’t have anything bad to say about it, and my excitement grew! Could this really be my car!? I had dreamed of this car, and it could finally be mine!!! I hoped and prayed he would buy it for me, and he did! I got my silver station wagon! With no money! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I was so grateful, astounded, impressed, and excited that The Secret had actually worked! But that was not all. After doing all the paperwork, grandad asked me to take him for a drive and directed me to a shop where you buy car accessories. He took me in and said, “Now, which car seat covers do you want?” I almost died when I saw the pink velour Playboy bunny car seat covers! Needless to say, I got the ones I had been dreaming about! I was so grateful for my dreams coming true. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

He then took me to the gas station and filled my tank up with gas. After this, I was then able to get my restricted driver’s license and drive around and not have to worry about how I was going to get us from A to B.

The Secret really does work! This is so vivid in my mind. I just can’t deny that what happened was more than a coincidence. There have been many times in my life before and since then that The Secret has worked for me.

My life has gradually changed for the better. I left the abusive guy and found a loving, caring, and generous man. I have received many large sums of money and material things that I had previously only ever dreamed of. My kids have a much better life now. I attract better people. Me and my mum now get along like you wouldn’t believe. And it was all from a change in thoughts.
