The first experience was related to my school. I wanted my teachers to appreciate me, and the law of attraction seemed to be working. However, I realized that it was not just due to the law of attraction. I was working hard to be the best student in the class, which is why my teachers loved me.

My second experience was about befriending my favorite singer who lives in the UK. The law of attraction worked again, and I became friends with my favorite singer on Facebook. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience when my Facebook account logged out while I was sleeping. When I woke up and tried to log in, I could not remember my password. That was when I remembered “The Secret” and the law of attraction. I wrote down my wish on a piece of paper and put it on my wall. I changed my wallpaper to one with my wish, and I put my wish everywhere in my house. I imagined having a conversation with my friends on Facebook. The law of attraction worked again, and I could log in to my Facebook account without a password. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This time, I truly believed in the law of attraction and the power of thought.

So, here in India, handicapped people get a railway card from the railway that helps them get a few benefits. I had to travel to a different city for my son’s therapy. First, we had to get a UDID card, short for Unique Disability Card. We thought that by doing this we could book a train ticket and get a discount on our tickets. But then we realized we needed to go to the railway and get issued a railway card. With the help of the railway card, a discount would be given. So we went to the divisional office and filled in the forms and followed all the procedures. We completed everything. When we went back to the divisional office with all the forms that were required, we submitted them but then we were told we had to wait 4 to 5 months! That was way too long a time to wait especially since we had been told that we would get the card in just a day or two. Anyway, we went home and tried to get it done through some retired railway employees but we did not see any results.

Then one day I just started saying to myself, “I received the railway card!” I kept repeating it every day. My neighbor is in the Railway Protection Force so I asked him if he could help me out and he was ready to do so! The next day I said again, “I received the railway card!” Then I felt really positive that I would receive the card. We went to the office and my neighbor spoke to that same madam. And what did I see?! The railway card was in his hand! It only took him 15 minutes to get that card! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I always believe that everything will work out but sometimes I need to give myself a little push, and not give up.

I went on my Birthright trip last summer spending 10 days in Israel from North to South for free because I am Jewish. The only crystal I got was the one my therapist gave me, it was pink. After watching The Secret, I started watching my thoughts a little bit better. I started to imagine what it would be like if I already had something I wanted.

Always be ready for it when it happens because it can happen when you least expect it. Be ready to say, “Thank you thank you thank you!” And thank you to the front desk person for recommending crystals and The Secret. People like that do not just fall out of the sky, you know?

They kept sending occasional voice notes or videos of my father, so we knew he was still alive. The police called this “proof of life.” On March 1st, we received another voice note from my father, followed by another nine days of demand calls from the kidnappers and then silence. Nothing. No calls, no messages, nothing. The silence was unbearable.

On Friday, 22nd of March, six weeks after my father was taken and three weeks after the last proof of life, the police said that we have to prepare ourselves for the possibility that my father may no longer be alive. They wanted to wait and see if anything would happen over the weekend, but they had a very bad feeling because of the silence from the criminals.

I am usually a very emotional and very high-strung person, but throughout the whole ordeal, I remained uncharacteristically calm. I heard what the police said, and I understood, but I did not believe my father was dead.
The situation was extremely tense. I usually love reading and watching crime and mystery novels, but during that time I could not bear to watch anything like that. I needed positive things in my life. I ended up revisiting a meditation program I had subscribed to a long time ago, which focuses on love and gratitude, and I tried to meditate on and off – not very well, I may add, but at least I tried.

On that weekend, while anxiously waiting for a call from the kidnappers, I needed something to help me get into a better frame of mind. I looked through my audiobooks but couldn’t find anything that appealed to me. I went online to browse, and “The Secret” popped up. I had never seen The Secret movie, never read The Secret book, and I didn’t even know what it was about; it just didn’t fit my usual genre of books. I read the summary and thought I would try.

It was a game-changer! I listened to it over and over, and of course, I asked that my father return safely. I imagined how it would feel to hug him when we were finally reunited, and I was grateful for his safe return.

On Monday morning, one of the detectives came to our house and said that the police wanted to change the case from “kidnapping” to “missing person,” which is the procedure when there are no more demands made, and thus the victim is “missing” rather than kidnapped and that I must realize that my father is no longer alive. He clearly saw in my eyes that I could not accept the situation. He took me aside and talked to me for a long time, but it did not change my belief. I can not say why I was so sure that they were wrong; I just knew.

That evening, we received a call from the kidnappers, and my father was put on the phone. Four days later, on Friday night, it was Good Friday, and my father was released by the criminals in an open wetland area. A group of people who had gathered there to pray by the river saw him being thrown out of a car and came to his assistance. Despite his age and the fact that he was kept tied up for seven weeks, he returned in good physical condition. When I hugged him it felt exactly like I imagined it would.

I must have played The Secret at least ten times that week, and I listened again and again and again. I had asked. I really and strongly believed. And I received. I also believe that the love and gratitude during the meditation, as clumsy as it may have been, was what attracted or sent “The Secret” to me.

I really can not thank you enough for this book. Of course, I am applying the law of attraction to other things now, happier things for sure, but the safe return of my father was truly a miracle. I am still listening to “The Secret” almost on a daily basis, and I have purchased “The Power” in the meantime, but “The Secret” is my favorite.

My story is not about attracting anything particularly extraordinary; however, it is the way that it made me feel that was extraordinary. In particular, it offered me two things: it taught me how to attract things so as to receive them in the fastest manner possible and that the law of attraction is a real notion that has a real, tangible, physical influence over the Universe.

Less than a year ago, I was sitting down on a step along Darling Harbour, waiting for my friends because we were going to have dinner. It was sunset, and everything around me was beautiful. First of all, let me just say that I had no intention of attracting anything in particular; I had just let my mind wander.

A random song popped into my head, and it was Coldplay’s ‘Princess of China’. Of course, I have no personal or emotional affiliation with it but recently, for some reason, I started liking it.

So, I listened to every detail of the song in my head: the melody, the harmony, and the song structure. As a music student, this was especially easy for me. I got goosebumps when I got to the bridge of the song because, to me, this was one of the loveliest parts. I was in a state of concentration and focus. Everything around me was beautiful. I was happy and at ease as I was listening to a song that I really liked.

Of course, when it was time to meet up with my friends, I got up and walked along the harbor. As I was walking along, less than 2 minutes after I got up, there it was again! Coldplay’s ‘Princess of China’ was playing from the bridge too!

I stopped in my tracks. I could not believe it. There were people walking around me, so I walked towards the restaurant that was playing the song and listened to it until the song ended.

There they were, people walking past me and not paying any attention to the beauty around them and the brilliance of their day. And there I was so happy because that moment was mine and no one else, even as I write this, could possibly imagine how I felt that day unless they have experienced it through the same means that I did, and that evidently, Rhonda has so many times.

I think it was the simplicity of it all that made it so magical. Take a breath, relax, and feel whatever it is that you want inside you. Use all your senses. Feel the textures, taste the sweetness, see the colors and detail, smell the roses, and hear the melodies.

Of course, one could say that it was a coincidence. But what do we say about coincidences? The Universe is never so lazy.

I was supposed to go for a one day picnic at a resort. The climate here is very hot and humid, and the sun shining at its full peak makes it even more difficult to get out and leave my home. The night before, I wished there would be no sun in the sky and the atmosphere cool and pleasant. With this thought, I went to sleep. And guess what? The next day was exactly the way I wanted.

A few months ago I suddenly had an urge to read The Secret again because I had been going through a tough time. So I searched again and I found it. I was so happy and I read the whole book in one night. After reading it I was filled with positivity and everything around me felt light and simple. I could not believe that I had not read it a long time ago, if I had then things would have been so different. But right now as I was going through a tough time I actually valued it even more. So now was the right time for me to read it.

That was why all these years I either resisted reading it or somehow it just never happened. Thank you Rhonda for this amazing book. The book itself has so much positive energy in it.

A few weeks earlier a girl driving a car had accidentally made a scratch on my car. She informed the police and then got my contact details for the same to do the necessary paperwork to pay for the damage. So she agreed to pay me in cash. I had asked for Dhs 400, and later after negotiation, we came to the conclusion that she would agree to pay me Dhs 300. The same amount that I had to pay for the fine! I was extremely happy and thanked the Universe a lot. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you so very much, dear Universe! Thank you so much!

However, I eventually got busy with life and kept “The Secret” aside, thinking that I would use it when I needed it. Later, I bought The Magic, The Power, and Hero. I watched The Secret movie several times, and the more I watched, the stronger my thoughts and feelings became.

I want to mention a few more instances in which I have applied The Secret and overcome tough phases in life.

My parents were unable to find the right match for my sister, as in India, most marriages happen through arranged setups. I took the responsibility of searching for the right mate for her and posted her profile on online matrimony services. People around me kept saying, “You cannot find genuine people on online matrimony sites.” Everybody around me was negative. After six months of searching, I almost gave up. Later, I thought that not all the profiles posted online were fake. Someone out there must also be searching for a soulmate genuinely, and my sister’s profile was genuine, so I was searching for people who are genuine like us. Every single day, I started visualizing the marriage invitation card and her pictures with her husband. I even showed her The Secret movie. I never gave up, and after a search of one year, I found the perfect soulmate for my sister. She is happily married, and her husband is very supportive and caring.

During the birth of my second child, my blood pressure went very high, and because of that, the doctors told me there was a small chance that the baby would not live after birth. I never even thought of what the doctor told me and was only visualizing how my baby would look. The baby was born alive, but the pediatrician told us that her platelet count was low and she needed to be kept in the NICU until her platelet count was good. I visualized her platelet count rising. I visualized taking my baby into my arms and her looking at me innocently. I thanked the Universe for giving me a beautiful baby girl. The very next day, doctors were surprised to see my baby’s platelet count increasing drastically. Today, she is a healthy ten month old baby, and even naughtier than my first son.

It was time to get back to my career after a long break of one year. But this time, I was not just looking for any job in any company. I wanted a job in a big corporate giant. I wrote in a journal that I was so thankful for a job in the exact place where I wanted to work. For my location and my salary, I felt gratitude every single day, exactly the way I would feel when I received it.

Within a week, I got a call from one of the world’s best investment firms. I had to go through seven rounds of interviews, and after a week, they called me and told me that I had been selected. The company is located in the exact same place that I had written down in the journal. I was overwhelmed after that phone conversation. I got my dream job with the salary I wanted. My heart was filled with gratitude.

Everything in my life is going well only because I believe in and live “The Secret.” My family is proud of my achievements.
