When I was in my adolescent period, I would always tell everybody that I wanted to be a Civil Engineer and that I would not marry a man who couldn’t afford for me to eat fruit salad every day. I was also fascinated with cars. I told my parents and relatives that someday I would have my own car and I always imagined living in a beautiful house. Because we were poor and my parents could not afford to send me to the College of Civil Engineering, I enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in our province and I completed my degree.

Now I am 44 years old, and I am married to a Civil Engineer. I have my beautiful house. I have more than just one car, my husband and my two daughters each drive their own cars. I am living the dream life that I had imagined. And, I can eat not only fruit salad every day but all the delicious foods that I want.
