New Guitar

One day, I was having one of the worst days I have had in a long time. A friend and I were in a book store and I saw the book from across the store, it just stood out to me. I knew a few people who had read the book and a few who saw the movie, and I had never given it a second thought… until that day. I needless to say bought the book and decided I was going to read one chapter a night so I could take what I read the night before, and put it to work in my life.
One thing that I started to do was, when I was feeling down, mad, sad, or just anything not good, I would think of a new guitar. I had seen a very nice Fender Strat in a guitar store, and when I was in a bad frame of mind, I would see myself holding that guitar, playing that guitar, I could even hear the guitar.
One day I needed to get a new guitar cable and went to the shop and told the guy working, “That guitar right there is my guitar”. From there I asked him how much do I have to put down on this guitar for it not to be sold so I could have it. He told me I could put down whatever I wanted to put down on it. I told him I wanted to put down $20 (not even really a dint in what the real cost was). He said he was fine with that and took the guitar up to the front counter and started to fill out a receipt for me. And then he looked at me and asked, “How much and how often are you going to pay for this?” I looked at him and with all honesty I told him, “I will pay him $150 every 2 weeks until I have it paid off.” Then he looked at me and said, “When you walked in here I could tell you were a good person, tell you what. Every 2 weeks bring me $150.” Then he did something I never expected. He hands me the guitar and says, “Take it today, I know you are a good person and that you really want this.” I got in my car holding my new beautiful guitar that brought me up in so many down times, and I yelled “THANK YOU”. I said it over and over.
And that was the day I had affirmed to myself: MY THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS.
