Circa 2000: The maxillofacial surgeon said to me, “You are 19. We can do the mandibular setback surgery to make your lower jaw shorter, during a wisdom tooth extraction!” I said, “Do I look like I am unhappy with the way I look?!” We both laughed it off back then!

Flash forward to 2023. After five trips to a maxillofacial surgeon, a new one this time, the decision had been made to do a sagittal split mandible osteotomy. With the same babble that the earlier doctor had given and something to do with jaw trauma.

We are blessed to have insurance and hence, I was not too worried about the financial planning. However, insurance in India does not cover anything dental unless it is trauma related or an accident. Mine was neither. So they came back saying it can’t be reimbursed. There goes my confidence and now I had more worry.

I had read and re-read The Secret to internalize the one and only mindset. Because the truth is, it does not come easy. Every day when there are so many issues grappling at you, you do not always consciously set your mindset to how you want it. But I want to tell you that it is possible. Because if the thought has come to you, it means that the Universe knows it can happen.

I started focusing my desire and thoughts through written work and affirmations. I did this for around 5 days and on the fifth day the insurance company wrote back saying they would consider my medical claim.

The best part about this was that I truly believed that I had already received the approval for the claim. I had already been blessed by the successful surgery and I am already recovering beautifully. My first and biggest lesson was to believe in claiming abundance.

Believe you have received it, the Universe is waiting to hear you say it. Loud, clear, humble, and grateful. My urge to all of you reading stories here with an open mind is to speak to the Universe and state your intention so it is crystal clear. Say affirmations any way you like best but just believe you are receiving it already.
