I had heard about “The Secret” from my sister and decided to try it out. I bought the DVD and the book this past Sunday and planned to watch the DVD that evening. My sister had told me about the premise of the book and the idea and theory behind the Secret prior to me having actually watched the DVD. Well, that day when I returned home, I decided to go for a walk on this mile and a half path that surrounds my condominium building. My condominium and the path are actually located on an island surrounded by water. As I was walking and taking in the fresh air and the beauty all around me, I began to think, “hey, wouldn’t it be wonderful to see dolphins in the bay?” Now, this is Miami, and although there have been dolphin sightings in the bay, I walk around my island on this path three to four times a week, and I have only seen dolphins there one time before, and that was a year ago. But, I told myself this evening, “I am giong to see dolphins. I believe and feel it! I know when I round this next corner, I will see a dolphin.” I continued walking for I would say another 6 or 7 minutes without seeing any dolphins. As I began rounding the corner, I saw a woman staring out at the water. I thought to myself, wouldn’t that be amazing if she were looking out there because there were dolphins in the bay. So I turned my focus to the bay, and incredibly, there appeared before me a school of dolphin!!! I couldn’t believe it!! I started talking to the woman about the dolphin, and she remarked how unusual it was to see dolphin in the bay this time of year and this close to our island given the low tide! I told her about the Secret and jokingly said, “You can thank me for the dolphin sighting!” She then said to me that dolphin sightings are a sign of good luck. Added bonus!! But who needs luck??? I’ve got the power of the Secret!

That evening I watched the Secret and began reading the book. Just last night, I was again walking on the same path, and thought, I’m going to try this law of attraction again! I started to visualize dolphins in the bay. I believed I would see them. I knew it. Sure enough, I did see dolphins in the bay, again! Then I thoughts, wouldn’t it be nice if I could see a dolphin really close up. Now, at the edge of the island where I was standing, there are rocks and things, and the water is not very deep. But I still believed I would see a dolphin come closer. I continued focusing on it and concentrating, still a bit concerned though that a dolphin may have difficulty getting that close to me, and I certainly didn’t want the law of attraction to harm another living creature. And just as I started thinking those thoughts, the most amazing thing happened. An iguana of all things just swam literally right in front of me!!! He swam in front of me, passed me, turned back around to come towards me, and then swam off again! No, it was no dolphin, but I have NEVER seen an iguana swimming in the bay….not ever and I have lived on this island for 6 years! I wasn’t disappointed by the fact that I saw an iguana versus a dolphin! I thought that was incredible!
