Remember the part of The Secret where the man said he always had the parking spot he visualized? Well I had been doing that for a few years and thought of it as a facet of good luck. Not now.
Before watching ‘it’ I had tried to wish the traffic faster… especially on Fridays. But I really didn’t believe it was possible… net result, no improvement.
Well Firday, we were going down the hill and I was watching the traffic piling up on the other side. This time I said to my husband, “That is going to clear up quite a bit when we return.” Of course he thought I was crackers. “Nope! Only going to get worse. This is Friday and it will be 5-7 mph all the way back”… at least a three hour trip, sometimes more.
When we were ready to get back on the freeway, I concentrated on everyone ahead of us having… “Forethought” (no changing lanes back and forth), consideration (keep far enough back from the person in front of you that a car needing to change lanes could do so without slowing the traffic), and patience (to augument the other two).
We didn’t stop once and didn’t do less than 50mph the whole way to our offramp. Now as if that wasn’t enough, I started working on the street we would have to travel to get the rest of the way home. Usually a 35-45min.trip at that time of day. Fifteen minutes later we were making our last turn, having sailed through some seventeen green lights! Wow!
We made the whole trip from start to finish in 1 hour and twenty minutes! Unheard of even at real off hours!
